On October 17, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya called a meeting of the District Level Coordination and Implementation Committee to discuss revitalising, restoring, maintaining, and caring for the district’s historical structures.

The DC stressed the need to protect the cultural and historical riches that characterise the area while arguing for the refurbishment and makeover that the beloved heritage sites sorely require.

He gave the order for the Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Executive Engineers of PWD to work together to produce a comprehensive plan for the planned development of these prestigious areas, which have a particular place in the hearts of the locals and are rich in cultural importance.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the tremendous emotional and cultural importance associated with these locations, emphasising that the district government should give top attention to maintaining them.


He suggested ground-breaking ways to improve these beloved treasures, including the deliberate development of the neighbourhood to include welcoming public spaces and the encouragement of sustainable growth, all while honouring the inherent architectural character.

The Jhiri Baba Jitto Shrine, Nagrota Kol Kandoli Temple, R.S. Pura Raghunath Mandir, and Kameshwar Temple in Akhnoor, among other places, would be among the places addressed at this meeting.
