Kulgam: The provincial level Inter-District Cricket Tournament for females, organised by the Youth Services & Sports Department, was officially opened today by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.
Speaking on this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner praised the department’s effort for planning and holding events of this kind, which help the government’s goal to have Nasha Mukht Bharat by involving youngsters in sporting activities.
According to DC, the government’s many measures to maximise the human resource dividend, particularly for youth, are led by the department of sports.
According to the DC, the administration is committed to encouraging sports. He argued that participation in sports had a substantial influence on young people’s social, physical, and mental development. He continued by saying that playing games teaches players good sportsmanship traits that help them lead successful lives. Kulgam Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, the district’s youth services and sports officer, and other authorities were there.
After the inauguration, games were held at Sports Stadium Kulgam and Sports Stadium HC Gam Kulgam, two distinct Kulgam locations.
The first game was contested between Bandipora and Shopian at Sports Stadium Kulgam. The toss was won by Bandipora, who selected the field first. Bandipora defeated Shopian by five wickets after setting a target of 81 in 12 overs.
