Participants in the event will include specialists from reputable universities throughout the nation, including IITs and NITs, who will discuss sustainable energy alternatives. In his inauguration speech, Prof. A.H. Moon, Dean of Academic Affairs, said that it is imperative that we move away from conventional energy sources and toward renewable alternatives. According to him, there has to be international agreement on adaptation and mitigation measures since climate change presents a severe danger to life as we know it. According to him, priority should be given to research into renewable energy, and wealthier nations should be willing to help poorer nations, particularly with technology transfer.

Dr. Zahoor Ahmed and Dr. Salman Ahmed oversaw the program, which was organized by the Department of Electrical Energy at IUST.
