The NHW was closed for five hours and thirty minutes near Dalwas and Mehad because of mudslides, slush, and shooting stones. Due to the breakdown of two HMVs, nomadic flocks, bad road conditions at Dalwas, and single-lane traffic at Cafeteria-Mehad, Magerkote, and Nachlana between Nashri and the NAVYUG Tunnel, slow movement was reported on NH-44.
It is recommended that 2P assongors and LMV operators choose to travel on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW throughout the day. Please avoid making dangerous nighttime travels, as a movement of nomads from the Kashmir Valley towards Jammu may create problems for commuters.
