Imphal, September 17: According to authorities, the corpse of an Indian Army man who was abducted on Saturday by armed individuals was discovered on Sunday in the Imphal East area.
The soldier was on leave and at home. Serto Thangthang Kom, 49, a member of the Defence Service Corps (DSC), was kidnapped on Saturday at gunpoint from his home in Tarung, Happy Valley, in the Imphal West district, according to police authorities.
At Khuningthek Village East in the Imphal East district, his bullet-riddled corpse was discovered on Sunday.
The soldier’s wife, daughter, and son survive him.
In accordance with the family’s desires, the last rituals would be performed. In order to help the grieving family in any way they could, an Army squad hastened to the residence of the killed soldier.
