Jammu, October 14: On Saturday, the government established a six-person committee to examine the applications submitted in accordance with the 2022 Jammu and Kashmir (Appointment of Outstanding Sports Persons) Rules and create a merit-based or select list.
Director General (Codes), Finance Department; Director, Department of Youth Services and Sports; Additional Secretary (Services), General Administration Department; Additional Secretary, Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs; and Secretary, J&K Sports Council, will make up the panel, which will be chaired by the Secretary, Department of Youth Services and Sports. According to its terms of reference, the Committee will carefully review the application materials that were submitted to the Youth Services and Sports Department in response to the announcement inviting applications for the appointment of outstanding sportspersons. It will then compile a select list or merit list strictly in accordance with the requirements of S.O. 12 of 2022, read alongside S.O. 412 of 2023.
