According to her, putting off the bill’s implementation would be very unjust to the nation’s women.

“Nari Shakti Vandan Adhinyam 2023 has my support. There would be a longer wait for this measure to become law, women are informed. We insist that the measure become law right now. Delays in the bill’s implementation would be a blatant injustice to the nation’s women. In the Lok Sabha, Sonia Gandhi urged the government to act right now.

In order to guarantee the participation of women from Other Backward Class/Scheduled Caste (OBC/SC) groups, she also urged that a caste census be conducted.

Before speaking in the Lok Sabha, Sonia Gandhi said, “It was Rajiv ji’s (Gandhi’s) dream (Bill).”

“This is a sensitive time in my life, too. My life partner Rajiv Gandhi introduced a constitutional change for the first time to determine women’s participation in local body elections. In the Rajya Sabha, it lost by seven votes. Later, the Rajya Sabha approved it under the direction of the Congress Government and PM PV Narasimha Rao. We now have 15 lakh elected women leaders in local bodies all throughout the nation. Only a portion of Rajiv Gandhi’s vision has come true. When this Bill is approved, it will be over, Sonia Gandhi stated in the Lok Sabha.

She said that while the Congress party supports this Bill and is pleased with its passing, there are some issues.

“Please allow me to pose a query. For the last 13 years, Indian women have been waiting for their political obligations. They are now being told to wait a few more years. the number of years? Is this conduct acceptable when it comes to Indian women? The INC wants that the Bill be put into action right away, but that a caste census also be carried out and that reservations be provided for women who are SC, ST, and OBC. stated Sonia Gandhi.

Today at 11 a.m., Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced the Bill’s changes and the House debated whether to adopt it.

On September 21, Rajya Sabha will discuss the Bill, according to official sources. (ANI)
