Aug. 31 (New Delhi): On Thursday, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, announced that the intermediate lane between Kargil and Zanskar on National Highway 301 in Ladakh is undergoing improvements.

According to a post by Gadkari on X, the project spans a total of 31.14 km and is classified as Package-6. He said that the initiative’s primary objective is to promote economic development by facilitating the free flow of people and products between urban and rural areas.

The Union Minister has said that the residents of the area and the local economy would profit immensely from the improved highway’s year-round accessibility.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading an ambitious effort to improve transportation in the Ladakh area in a way that is quick, easy, and ecologically friendly.
