Srinagar, November 26: In the Baramulla area of North Kashmir, police on Sunday reported to have taken three terrorist comrades of the Lashkar-i-Toiba outfit into custody.
 
According to a police handout sent to GNS, on November 25, while conducting joint Naka checking and patrolling with 13 SIKHLI, 185 BN BSF, and Baramulla Police at Kalgai near Jhula Foot Bridge, two suspected individuals carrying bags were intercepted as they were heading from Kamalkote towards NHW. They were identified as Mohammad Naseem Khanday, son of Abdul Majeed Khanday, and Zameer Ahmad Khanday, son of Azeem Khanday, both residents of Madiyan Kamalkote.

A police spokesperson said that three Chinese grenades and 2.5 lacs in cash were found during the search. In light of this, a case FIR was filed at Police Station Uri in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.

Under intense interrogation, both defendants admitted that Manzoor Ahmad Bhatti, the son of Karam Din Bhatti and an inhabitant of Madiyan Kamalkote, had given them the cash and illegally obtained grenades so they could carry out any terrorist attack. As a result, Manzoor Ahmad Bhatti was brought in for interrogation. During the process, he revealed that he had given these people cash and illegally obtained grenades to be used in terrorist acts. He also mentioned that he had kept cash and one hand grenade at a known location close to his home.

As a result of his admission, a single Chinese hand grenade and $2.17 lakh in cash were found. In the current instance, he was also taken into custody. The statement states that further research is ongoing. GNS
