Udhampur, July 11: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya presided over a meeting of health department functionaries in the Mini Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex today to discuss the district’s current healthcare situation and services.

Dr. Anil Manhas, the CMO, introduced himself to the DC and gave him a rundown of the health department’s operations and their progress as measured by various indicators.

The DC conducted an in-depth analysis of the progress made in implementing different health plans, the efficiency of healthcare providers, the quality of patient treatment, and the state of healthcare infrastructure. In order to better serve the public, the DC has requested that all healthcare facilities prioritise effective service delivery.

He urged everyone to treat the patients with the greatest respect and care. The DC ordered all of the district’s OPDs to switch to generic medications immediately. The health department has tasked its officers with going out on the town to check on things in their territories. The DC ordered the CMO to perform a prescription Audit throughout the District to curb the practise of physicians prescribing medications that aren’t essential.
