A bomb fear in Mendhar was caused by unclaimed baggage

Poonch, India – On Friday morning, the Bomb Disposal Squad was called out after two abandoned suitcases were discovered in a PWD community in the nearby village of Mendhar.

On Friday morning, residents of Mendhar town reportedly discovered two unclaimed bags of a red hue lying in PWD colony. They called the police, who sent a squad led by SHO Mendhar Sajid Ahmed to the scene and blocked it off.

Both bags reportedly went through an examination by a bomb disposal unit and an army team.

Officials said that “some clothes, and eatables were found from both the bags with nothing explosive found there,” and that, two hours after the bomb disposal unit given their clearance, the worry was over.
