A little child from Sopore was rescued after drowning while bathing in a nearby brook

On Saturday, a juvenile boy bathing in a creek in the Sopore region of the Baramulla district in north Kashsmir tragically drowned and was sent to the hospital.

According to an official, the youngster, identified as Hareeb Suhail, son of Suhail Ahmed Guroo of Seer Jagir, drowned while having a bath in Pohru Nallah, a small stream in the Mazbug neighbourhood of Sopore.

Locals and a police detachment from fruit Mandi Sopore arrived quickly after the tragedy and rescued the youngster, he added.

Later, he was transferred to the Sopore sub-district hospital, from where he received a referral to Srinagar for more advanced care.
