Srinagar, June 23: After wrapping up his tour to the Jammu and Kashmir region on Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah landed here in the afternoon.

The minister arrived in a special BSF plane, which landed at Srinagar Airport’s technical section.

Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka joined Shah on his visit.

He picked up his car at the airport and headed to Srinagar’s Raj Bhawan in the Chashma Shahi neighbourhood.

After meeting with public and political party delegations at the Raj Bhawan, he will go to the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on the shores of Dal Lake for the Vitasta cultural event.

Later that day, he’ll go back to the Raj Bhawan to co-chair a security review meeting with the Lt. Governor.

Civilian, police, paramilitary, and intelligence agency chiefs will all be in attendance. The home minister will assess the safety measures in place for the Amaranth Yatra.
