During the time of the Hajj, Saudi Arabia has made it illegal for pilgrims to make use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in their camping areas.

The Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah begins on Monday, which is equivalent to the 19th of June in the Gregorian calendar.

The decision to prohibit was made, according to the Director-General of Civil Defence, as a part of the civil defence procedures taken to safeguard the safety of pilgrims. It will be implemented in conjunction with the authorities in charge of maintaining security.

The pilgrimage known as Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is obligatory for all Muslims who are in good health and have the financial means to do so.

The formal beginning of Haj 2023 will take place on the 8th of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, and it will continue until the 13th day of the same Islamic month. This year, it takes place between the 26th of June and the 1st of July.
