The biggest and heaviest kidney stone in history was removed by physicians from the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) on June 14 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

According to the SLA’s Media Division, a team of top medical practitioners led by Consultant Urologist Lieutenant Colonel (Dr.) K. Sutharshan, Head of the Genito Urinary Unit at the Colombo Army Hospital, successfully removed a 13.372 cm long, 801 gramme stone.

The current Guinness World Records show that in 2004, an approximately 13-centimeter kidney stone was discovered in India, and in 2008, a 620-gram kidney stone was recorded in Pakistan.
