Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to the US on June 17, Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that the respect the Prime Minister will get there is something that only a few people have had in the past.
Jaisdhankar told the reporters while riding on a bus: “The Prime Minister will be on a state visit to the United States.
State visit is the greatest respect that can be given.”
He said, “In the past, only a few people have been treated with the respect that the Prime Minister gets.”
The Minister said that an Indian Prime Minister will speak to the US Congress for the second time, which has never been done before. “In the past, famous people like Nelson Mandela and Winston Churchill have spoken twice or more to the US Congress. Because of this, it is very important,” he said.
