Poonch hideaway is raided by security troops

Officials in Srinagar said on May 18 that security troops had uncovered a hideaway in the Mendhar region of Poonch district.

GNS cited a police official in reporting that a combined team of army and police had discovered a hideaway in the Lower Kasbalari district of Mendhar.

A sniffer dog used by the army discovered several suspected IEDs and other explosive items during a search, which was securely detonated by the Bomb Disposal Squad, he added.

The officer noted that the explosives were detonated in the presence of the Village Sarpanch and Numberdar.
