Srinagar, June 27: The Apni Party held a gathering on Tuesday in the Kulgam district of south Kashmir. This was part of its ongoing protests in each district of the Valley. A press release said that the gathering was meant to be a protest against the government’s failure to make sure that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have enough food, clean water, power, and other necessities.

Abdul Majeed Padder, who is the Chief Coordinator of the Apni Party and the District President of Kulgam, was in charge of the gathering. All of the district leaders, workers, and local people came to make their views known. Participants held up signs with words that showed how upset they were that the government wasn’t taking care of basic needs. Abdul Majeed Padder told reporters at the time, “People in different parts of the Union Territory (UT) are facing big problems, like not getting enough food from the Ghats, having their power go out often, and not having enough water in many places. It is up to the government to deal with these public problems and complaints, but the government doesn’t seem to care about the real needs of the people.
