Nov. 27, Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP), RR Swain, said on Monday that the fight against terrorism in the U.T. is still ongoing since a battle only ends when one side concedes defeat.

Speaking to the media outside of a gathering at this Gurdwara Chattipadshahi, DGP Swain said that the fight against terrorism in J&K is still ongoing. “A conflict only comes to an end when one of the sides concedes defeat and realizes that further deaths will not solve the issue. Thus, even if we occasionally suffer setbacks, we will not give up on the battle against terrorism, the DGP said.

He said that there was no chance of the police reversing course in the continuing war on terrorism. He remarked, “Peechay hatnay ka sawaal he nahi.” In response to a question about infiltration, he said that it might sometimes increase and decrease. “This matter is not meant to be made public,” he said.

As the DGP offered heartfelt congratulations to Guru Nanak Devji on Gurupurab, he said that police do not reaffirm their commitment to serving the public on this auspicious day; rather, they make a fresh vow to do so.

The lessons of Guru Nanak Devji still hold true today. His message has been one of equality and no distinction between the affluent and the poor. Even now, any soul may become enlightened by Guruji’s teachings, regardless of caste, color, or faith. The DGP said, “On this occasion, I convey my best greetings to the Sikh community of J&K—(KNO).
