Nagpur, Nov. 19: Positively, according to the National Innovation Rankings (NIR) published by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Government of India, the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) in Jammu, and the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Awantipora have emerged as top performers.
 
According to the NIR, the IUST has achieved an outstanding four stars out of five, and its success can be attributed to its efforts to support innovation, cultivate an entrepreneurial environment, and develop young capability.


The university’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) has been instrumental in inspiring and assisting young people to turn their creative ideas into profitable businesses.

Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Registrar of IUST, described the institution’s top rating as a significant milestone in an interview with Greater Kashmir.


He said in Greater Kashmir, “The NEP-2020 also emphasizes innovations and entrepreneurship, and once your institution gets a good ranking, you will be eligible for very good funding as well.”

He said that because of the university’s high NIR rating, innovators from the public sector or the institution (IUST) will get favorable branding for their products.

“The institution as a whole and innovators in particular will benefit from a good ranking,” he said.

In addition, Model Institute of Engineering and Technology has received an impressive rating of 3.5 stars out of 5, which emphasizes the school’s dedication to innovation, research, and development.

The ranking is an important achievement that highlights the institution’s commitment to generating innovative and high-caliber research.

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Science and Technology in Srinagar, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in Katra, SSM College of Engineering in Baramulla, Stephen Institute of Paramedical Sciences in Jammu, University of Jammu, and Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology in Jammu are a few other institutions that are included in the list.

Along with over 35 government degree colleges and a small number of polytechnic colleges, the list also includes Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri, Central Universities of Jammu, Central University of Kashmir, Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS), Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Srinagar and Jammu, Indian Institute of Management Sciences Jammu, and IIT Jammu.
