According to the Department, the Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP) Policy 2022 of the State of Jammu and Kashmir is a reform aimed at the sustainable collection and use of NTFPs. The procedure of sustainable collecting is being democratised and decentralised as a result of this strategy. In addition to this, it places a focus on the finding of fair prices and the realisation of fair prices to local collectors. To protect themselves from any legal repercussions, the merchants have been strongly encouraged to register their NTFP depots in accordance with the newly implemented NTFP regulation.
