At this year’s I/O conference, Google debuted Immersive View for transportation options. The Android and iOS versions of Immersive View for routes will begin rolling out this week in a number of major cities. These cities include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tokyo, and Venice.
Using hundreds of street views and aerial photographs, the AI-powered feature Immersive View for locations enables users to sample restaurants and landmarks before they actually visit them. The California-based tech giant is increasing functionality for Google-integrated autos starting this week. According to Google’s blog post, information on charging stations is now more readily available to EV drivers using Android and iOS devices.
To help choose the best charging station, this data will contain information about the charger’s compatibility with their particular EV model and the charging speed choices, broken down into fast, medium, and slow categories. In addition, Google emphasised that customers would be able to see the latest use status of a charger, which will help them avoid needless journeys to inactive stations since around 25% of charging stations in the United States may be inoperable at any one moment.

Google announced the change in a blog post, saying, “Now, when you search on Maps for particular items like the greatest spot to discover ‘animal latte art,’ or ‘pumpkin patch with my dog,’ you’ll receive photo-first results of what you’re searching for. Artificial intelligence and sophisticated picture recognition algorithms were used to compile these findings from the billions of photographs uploaded to Google Maps by the community.
