In the end, the operation resulted in the seizure of five handguns, seven pistol magazines, 53 pistol rounds, and 10 hand grenades hidden in the area.

Baramulla Police and the 8th Mountain Division of the Army set up a checkpoint at Parampeela Uri based on specific information and apprehended two people acting suspiciously, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Amod Ashok Nagpure, at a joint press conference.

Two Glock pistols, four magazines, two silencers, five Chinese grenades, and 29 rounds of ammunition were reportedly found during the search.

He named Zaid Hassan Malla, a resident of the historic district of Baramulla, and Muhammad Arif Channa as the two men who had been captured; both men, he added, had been operating as terror associates of LeT.

“The arrested terror associates were involved in cross-border smuggling of arms and ammunition and were being handled by Pakistani handlers,” Nagpure added.

According to him, the recovered weapons and ammunition were intended for distribution to LeT militants active throughout J&K.

Aftaar Ahmad Lohar, a resident of Surankote Poonch, was reportedly identified as another terror member during Nagpure’s persistent questioning of the captured individuals. Lohar was subsequently apprehended as well.

In his words, the arrest of these men prevented a massive terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir and was made possible by the excellent cooperation of the J&K Police and other security personnel.

Police in Baramulla, according to Nagpure, detained a member of the LeT on September 22. They later determined that the detainee was Yaseen Ahmad Shah, a resident of Jambazpora.

The terrorist was apprehended, he claimed, after police in Baramulla got tips that he had gone AWOL and joined the LeT terror group.

“After receiving human and technical support, a joint team of police in Baramulla, the Army, and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) arrested the LeT terrorist, Yaseen Ahmad Shah, and seized arms and ammunition from his possession, including a pistol, a pistol magazine, and eight live rounds,” Nagpure said.

A weapon, magazine, and eight bullets were reportedly found at his home by authorities, he claimed afterwards.

According to Nagpure, the terrorist who was apprehended was able to identify his accomplice after being questioned for a long period of time.

It was revealed that he was Parvaiz Ahmad Shah, a resident of Takiya Wagoora.

Two hand grenades were reportedly found after his detention, according to Nagpure.

After further questioning, Mudasir Ahmad Rather and Showkat Ahmad, both from Takiya and Wagila Wagoora Baramulla, were apprehended as well, he added.

According to reports out of Nagpure, the terrorists who were apprehended were pivotal members of the LeT terror group’s global network. He said that Nigeena, from Vijipora, Hajin, and Aafreena, alias Aayat, from Shalteng, Srinagar, were two of the women terrorists who were revealed after extensive interrogation of the apprehended LeT terrorist.

Two more hand grenades were found thanks to the arrests of the ladies, according to Nagpure.

In response to queries, he said that the recent disruption of two terror modules throughout the Baramulla area is evidence that Pakistan and the terrorist handlers in Pakistan are always attempting to destabilise the current calm across J&K.

Now that the terrorist associate from Poonch has been apprehended, he says, it is clear that the dismantled modules were intended to distribute weapons and ammunition across the Kashmir and Jammu regions.

According to Nagpure, the police and army thwarted their plot thanks to their quick response.

By dismantling the terrorist components of LeT, we were able to stop the terrorists from carrying out their plans. “The arrest of the Poonch terrorist’s associate shows the terrorists were trying to activate the network in Jammu division,” he added.
