Srinagar, July 22: On Tuesday night, a cloudburst hit the Faqir Gujri neighbourhood of Srinagar, causing widespread damage to roads, water and power supply lines, and people’s homes. On Wednesday, a party delegation led by Apni Party senior leader and District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Aftab Malik went to assess the situation and offer assistance.
Aftab Malik and his colleagues reportedly went to assess the damage in Faqir Gujri, which is located in the Zabarwan hills not far from Harwan Srinagar, after the cloudburst. The locals gave the delegation members a personal experience of the devastation caused by the natural disaster as they interacted with them throughout their tour.
To that end, he demanded that the district administration immediately begin repairs on the broken roads, water pipelines, and power lines. He also recommended that the government carry out a thorough evaluation of the damage to local citizens’ properties to guarantee that they are fairly compensated for their losses.
