Today, September 10, the District Magistrate of Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, led a meeting to look at how the Jal Jeevan Mission projects are going in the district.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate was given a full report on the state of the Jal Jeevan Mission’s tenders and work assignments. In order to get projects started and finished faster, the District Magistrate gave clear dates for each job.
Officials, such as Superintendent Engineers and Executive Engineers from the Jal Shakti Department and the Irrigation and Flood Control Departments, were present at the meeting.
The District Magistrate told the different Sub-Divisional Magistrates to keep an eye on the work in their own areas to make sure it went smoothly and that any possible problems were taken care of. They were told to make plans and get the help they needed to make JJM projects run more smoothly. The SDMs were told to use any and all tools at their disposal to make sure that deadlines would be met.
In addition to encouraging everyone to work together, the District Magistrate stressed the need to keep the quality of work high while speeding up project execution. His orders say that weekly success reports should be sent in to make sure that everything is clear and that people are held accountable. Recognising how important it is to involve the community, District Magistrate Vaishya asked officials to address the real worries of local people as the project is carried out.
