A 62-year-old tomato farmer from the Madanapalle Mandal, Annamayya district, was discovered dead on the outskirts of Bodumalladinne. Narem Rajasekhar Reddy was found to have passed away.

Someone or whatever ambushed him, tied his hands and feet to a tree, and then strangled him with a towel. The police think the criminals may have slain Rajasekhar during a botched robbery attempt. The corpse was discovered by a passerby on Wednesday, and the police were notified.

Jyothi, Rajasekhar’s wife, told police that a group of men who claimed to be interested in buying tomatoes visited their property on Tuesday. The farmer had gone into town to sell milk, so they departed after hearing this.

More than seventy crates of tomatoes were recently sold by Rajasekhar at the Madnapalle market, netting him over Rs 30 lakh.

The murder and the large sum of money are linked in the minds of the police. The farmer left behind a wife and two married children, all of whom now make their home in Bengaluru. The Madnapalle SP, R Gangadhar Rao, went to the murder scene and met with the victim’s loved ones.

There are four groups working on this puzzle. A sniffer dog has been brought in to aid in the inquiry. DSP K Kesappa has promised that the issue would be looked into from every possible aspect.
