Tulmulla locals have complained that their pasture land has become a dumping ground for trash from other parts of the city. Manzoor Ahmed, a local activist, claims that despite the construction of a segregation shed by the government, rubbish is still being improperly disposed of in open areas.

The residents complained that the waste attracted animals, including dogs, and produced an unpleasant odour. Residents have requested that the management monitor the segregation shed to verify that trash is being properly disposed of.

ATMs are in high demand among Kullan locals.

Kullan hamlet and the surrounding parts of Gund Tehsil in Ganderbal district lack an ATM, which has been cited as a problem by locals. According to the locals, it takes them more than 10 miles to go to the nearest bank. According to them, the Kullan region may be found on the Srinagar-Leh highway. They said that individuals were struggling since there was no nearby ATM. Gund is home to a Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch, while Kangan is home to another. A local has said that both are between 10 and 20 kilometres from where we are. According to the residents, an ATM is desperately needed there. The local merchants complained that the lack of a bank and an ATM made doing business very difficult. A store owner once lamented, “Sometimes our business is affected due to the non-availability of the bank and ATM.”

ENERGY PROBLEMS: Residents in Ganderbal are upset due to frequent blackouts.

The residents of the Ganderbal area have expressed their displeasure with the frequent blackouts. Residents have complained that Ganderbal is seeing the worst of the electricity issue despite the presence of three power plants. Reports from different areas of Ganderbal, including the major towns of Ganderbal, Lar, Kangan, Tulmulla, Gund, and other areas, said that the unscheduled power cuts have grown severe, giving people a tough time, especially during the evening hours. “It is shocking that instead of ensuring regular power supply, the power development department is resorting to forced cuts,” said Nisar Ahmed, a local resident. Repeated power outages in the mornings and evenings have been cited as a major complaint from locals in the Ganderbal region. Every day we face the problem of unscheduled power cuts only to find ourselves in complete darkness, adding that the electricity is playing hide and seek,” said a resident of Gund. Some residents said that the situation was the same in metered and unmetered zones. The locals said the power outages and fluctuations were becoming worse. People also complain that unscheduled curtailments are hampering the studies of their wards, who are preparing for different exams.
