Srinagar, December 27: Athar Aamir Khan, CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), gave a status report on the Shalimar Canal project’s development on Wednesday. The project is a significant endeavor that falls within the larger purview of the Srinagar Smart City program. Khan said that the project is moving forward quickly at the moment and that he is hopeful that it will be finished on schedule.

Commissioner Athar Khan said, “This canal will improve connectivity between two iconic locations, Shalimar Garden and Dal Lake, in addition to serving as a picturesque waterway.”
He went on to discuss the technical details of the project in more detail, stressing that careful preparation has been done to guarantee environmental sustainability and reduce any possible effects on the neighboring communities.
The canal’s path across the recently constructed Northern Lake Front was thoughtfully selected to blend in with the surrounding scenery and maintain the area’s natural attractiveness.
