LMV passengers, private cars, HMVs, and load carriers will be permitted on both sides of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), viz., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa, subject to fine weather and excellent road conditions. It is important for commuters to maintain proper lane discipline.
Security Forces convoy movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), from Jammu in the direction of Srinagar and vice versa, would be permitted if the weather is good and the roads are passable.
ROAD SSG
Vehicle traffic on the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari route would be permitted from both directions, from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa, provided that the weather cooperates and the road is in excellent repair. Between 7:30 and 11:30, only LMVs, followed by HMVs, will be permitted to travel from Minamarg to Srinagar.
From Sonamarg to Kargil, LMVs followed by HMVs will be permitted between 1300 and 1700. After the designated time, no vehicles will be permitted.
The SFs convoy that travels between Srinagar and Kargil will depart at 8:00 a.m.
For the safety of civilian traffic, the SF convoy travelling between Drass and Srinagar must carefully arrange its route.
Vehicle traffic on the Mughal Road, both from Poonch to Shopian and in the other direction, is subject to favourable weather and road conditions. From Behramgalla (Buffiaz) and Herpora (Shopian), these vehicles will be permitted to travel between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00. After the time limit has expired, no vehicles will be permitted.
ADVISORY: Travellers on NH-44 should only set out if they have first checked in with one of the following traffic control units in Jammu (0191-2459048), Srinagar (0194-02450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103), Ramban (9419993745), Udhampur (8491928625), or PCR Kishtwar (99061 54 100) to find out the current condition of Sinthan Road.
