Approximately 284 drug dealers were apprehended, and an additional 34 high-profile dealers were detained under PIT NDPS/PSA. 318 drug dealers have been apprehended so far, and the system is working as intended. The goal of this initiative, as stated by the SSP, is to “make Baramulla a drug-free district” by eliminating the drug culture there.

Furthermore, the SSP Baramulla said that specialised teams have been sent out to collect vital information on the drug mafia active in the area.

The SSP acknowledged the critical need to address the increasing drug-related crimes in the area and described the preventative steps being taken by the Baramulla Police to counter the drug trade in the district.

Baramulla Police have sent special squads made up of seasoned police and undercover operatives to covertly obtain information about the drug cartel’s infrastructure.
