25 September: Srinagar Significantly, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have increased their efforts to prevent the misuse of social media platforms for anti-Indian and anti-national purposes.

According to sources, the IP addresses of individuals participating in such activities are being actively monitored. The direct cooperation of social media titans such as WhatsApp, X (formerly known as Twitter), Snapchat, Instagram, Telegram, and ToTok, among others, distinguishes this initiative from others. This collaboration has given the authorities access to information regarding those who use these platforms to propagate anti-national sentiment.

Recently, the police’s Cyber Investigation Kashmir unit apprehended a suspect from Srinagar, demonstrating the partnership’s effectiveness. It was discovered that the individual operated a false Instagram account and posted anti-national content in the comments section.

The police have effectively infiltrated various Telegram and WhatsApp groups, where they closely monitor activities. These operations, according to sources, have yielded a vast quantity of valuable intelligence.

Even adolescents who are members of multiple Telegram groups are under surveillance, according to them.
