In Srinagar on Tuesday, weatherman predicted “widespread” mild to moderate rain/snow/thunderstorm in Jammu and Kashmir on March 27 and 28.
This Meteorological Department Office forecasts mostly dry weather with a chance of very light showers and thunderstorms in one or two spots in 24 hours.
On March 29, the MeT predicted partly overcast skies with light rain/snow in isolated areas.
The office predicts partly overcast weather with occasional light rain/snow on March 30-31.
MeT officer informed GNS that night temperature rose in most locations except Srinagar and Kupwara.
He stated Srinagar’s low was 5.4°C, down from 7.0°C the night before, and 0.4°C above usual for the summer capital of JK.
Compared to 4.2°C the night before, Qazigund’s low was 4.4°C, 0.7°C above usual for Kashmir’s gateway town.
Pahalgam, a popular south Kashmir resort, had a low of 0.7°C, 0.3°C higher than the previous night.
The official stated Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, saw a low of 6.6°C, 3.3°C higher than the previous night’s 5.8°C.
The official reported Kupwara town’s low was 3.3°C, 0.1°C above average, compared to 3.9°C the night before.
Gulmarg, a world-famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla region, saw a low of 2.8°C, down from 1.2°C the night before.
He added Jammu’s low was 16.6°C, 1.1°C above typical for J&K’s winter capital.
He stated Banihal dropped 9.2°C, Batote 10.6°C, and Bhaderwah 8.0°C.
