The Bhimbat, Padum, and Yourbaltak have all been won by the National Conference (NC). The Stakchay Khangral seat was won by the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

After Ladakh separated from Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, the first local election was held in Kargil for the hill council.
