Maulana Sayeed Ahmad Farooqi, the Imam of Dargah Hazratbal, has just passed away

Maulana Sayeed Ahmad Farooqi, the Imam of Dargah Hazratbal, died suddenly on Monday after a short bout with sickness, according to reports coming out of Srinagar on August 28.

For more than twenty years, Maulana Sayeed Ahmad Farooqi presided over the prayer services in Dargah Hazratbal. According to reports from a news source called KNO, Maulana Syeed Ahmad Farooqi died away in the late afternoon at his house in Hazratbal after a short bout with sickness.

According to the report, the family has said that his Nimaz-e-Jinaza would be conducted on the lawns of Dargah Hazratbal at nine o’clock at night, immediately after the Isha prayers.
