Police in Srinagar have detained a young man for making sexual assault threats to females online

Srinagar, July 08: An official said today that the police in Srinagar have detained a young man who had been following and making online rape threats to female victims.

A spokeswoman for the police department said on Twitter that a guy named “One Syed Shamoon Hamdani S/o Mohd Ayoub Hamdani R/o Anwar colony Rawalpora” had been detained for “harassing, stalking, assaulting, and giving online rape threats to girls.”

“A brave young woman approached him with proof of the wrongdoings he had committed. FIR number 58/2023 was filed under the following sections of the Indian Penal Code: 354,294,506,509,” he said.
