On September 2nd, police in Baramulla made an arrest in connection with a burglary and recovered stolen items from the suspect’s hands, closing the investigation.

Gulshan Ahmad Parray, a resident of Yall Pattan, filed a written complaint on August 10 with the Police Station Pattan, alleging that on August 8 his scooty with the registration number JK05L-7626 had been taken from outside his front gate by unknown intruders.

A case FIR No. 262/2023 was filed at Police Station Pattan under applicable laws, and an investigation was launched.

Amir Ahmad Wani, a resident of Domvwani Kegam Shopian, was identified as the prime suspect after the inquiry narrowed in on him with the use of technological and human resources. He was taken into custody when police learned, through interrogation, that he had participated in criminal activity. The residence of the suspect who was apprehended also had a stolen scooty.

Members of the community have praised police for their work in solving the case. Police have promised the public that they would take crime seriously and act forcefully against those responsible for it.
