On Sunday, September 3rd, Ramban police made two theft arrests related to two distinct incidents that occurred in Ramban town.
Hem Raj, a resident of Balihote, Ramban, allegedly filed a written complaint with the police on August 22. He said that on the evening of August 22, thieves broke into his room and stole Rs 61,300 in cash and a gold item (Mangalsutar) by breaking the lock.
Ramban Police Station received the report and started an investigation per the applicable laws.
Several people were detained by police and questioned as part of the inquiry. Akshit Sharma, the son of Ramban town resident Pirthi Raj Sharma, was arrested after police followed up on particular leads.
Police said that after extensive interrogation, Akshit Sharma admitted guilt for the crime.
Police were able to collect Rs 61,300 and several gold objects (Mangalsutar) because to his confession.
According to the police, he was detained on FIR No. 274 of 2023 for violating Code Sections 454 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code.
The theft of a three-wheeled passenger auto with the registration number JK19-2449 occurred between the 28th and 29th of August, and the victim, Haider Ali, son of Habibullah, of Chandrog, Maitra, Ramban, filed a written complaint at Police Station Ramban.
Bashir Ahmed @Babloo, son of Abdul Hamid, a native of Kowbagh, Ramban, was arrested as a suspect during the inquiry. Suspect Bashir Ahmed eventually admitted his guilt after extensive interrogation.
The police said in his report that they had located a stolen vehicle with the number plate number JK19-2449.
At Police Station Ramban, a FIR was filed (No. 278/2023) for an alleged violation of Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code.
Two suspects, together with the stolen cash, gold, and vehicle, were apprehended, according to the police.
