On December 11, the Ganderbal district government said that gas stations could not sell gas to people riding two-wheelers without helmets. They also told all gas station owners to put CCTV cameras in their gas stations.

According to an order from Shyambir, the District Magistrate of Ganderbal, they can’t sell gasoline to people riding two-wheelers without helmets.

In addition to the ban, owners of gas stations and pumps have been told to put in CCTV cameras that can clearly record customers. The move came after a lot of crashes, mostly involving two-wheelers, which made the government want to take safety precautions.

The District Magistrate of Ganderbal has told everyone to strictly follow this order. It gives the Tehsil Magistrates the power to look at any gas station’s video footage to see if there were any violations. If there are any, the order says they will be dealt with seriously by the law.
