‘Suicide’ by a VDC member in Udhampur

Udhampur: Late on Saturday night in the Latti tehsil of the district of Udhampur, a Village Defence Guard reportedly shot himself in the head with his service gun.

The incidence was verified by a senior police official, who also named the dead as Babu Ram, 50, Dina Nath’s son from the Dudu village. “The cause behind the extreme step is being ascertained, and a case has been registered in this connection,” he said.
