Jammu: An official news statement said that the Department of Revenue today made amendments to the record of rights in respect of Village Birpur of the Samba District on the orders of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, and under the supervision of Chief Secretary, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta.

The modifications concern the demarcation and delineation of land that has been listed in revenue records as Gair Mumkin Khad, Gair Mumkin Darya, Gair Mumkin Nallah, etc. despite not being a part of any water channel or source.

The people have long demanded that these zones be clearly defined and demarcated. The procedure has been started, according to representatives of the Revenue department who spoke on the matter, and several regions are now being considered for delineation and demarcation.

4150 Kanals and four marlas of land in Khasra No. 1734 in the Village of Birpur have been registered as Gair Mumkin Khad per a Revenue Department order.
