Jammu, September 17: Union Minister of State in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh stated on Sunday that Public Private Partnership (PPP) with an integrated strategy was necessary to accomplish ‘TB Mukt Bharat,’ which was really inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vow of ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ by 2025.

He made this proclamation at Udhampur, while launching the SMVD Narayana Healthcare TB Mukt Express with the tagline “Chalo Chale TB Ko Harane.”

Dr. Jitendra, who serves as Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Science and Technology as well as for the Ministries of the Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, praised India’s efforts to eliminate tuberculosis by 2025 as a global model and called on all Indians to join in the fight against the disease in the true spirit of Jan Bhagidari.

The government of India, he added, is committed to making ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ a reality by 2025 due to the widespread damage the disease does to society and the economy, and biotechnology will play a crucial role in the country’s plan to eradicate tuberculosis via a holistic, integrated healthcare strategy.

Patient-centered care has been achieved in India’s TB management programme, according to the Union Minister of State, who cited the following strategies: private sector participation; active case discovery; decentralisation of services via Health and Wellness Centres; community engagement; and Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana.

As part of the event, Dr. Jitendra gave kits to tuberculosis patients in his parliamentary seat whom he had adopted in order to meet their basic requirements and help realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India tuberculosis-free by 2025.

Udhampur DDC chairman Lal Chand and Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai both attended the event.
