Monday, September 4, in New Delhi, the Centre asked Akbar Lone, a member of parliament from north Kashmir, to sign a declaration swearing loyalty to the Indian Constitution and rejecting terrorism supported by Pakistan.

A petitioner filed a case against Akbar Lone a few days ago, saying that when he was an MLA, he shouted “Pakistan Zindabad” in the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly.

When the Article 370 case started up again today, Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the Centre asked Akbar Lone to file a statement swearing to follow the Indian Constitution.

Akbar Lone is the main person in the Supreme Court case against getting rid of Article 370.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was representing Centre, asked the Supreme Court to let Lone file a statement saying that he is against terrorism and secessionism in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistan.
