Jammu, 11 July: Beginning with the 2023–24 academic year, the Govt. College of Education on Canal Road in Jammu will provide 4-year Bachelor of Arts in Education (BA) and Bachelor of Arts in Education (BA) (Preparatory) degrees.

National Common Entrance Test (NCET), 2023, administered by National Testing Agency (NTA), will be used to determine admission to these programmes. These teacher preparation courses will be open to students who have completed their 10+2 education.

The application period has been extended to July 19 from its original closing date of June 26.

Applying online is an option for those who qualify. The Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor of Education are all offered as part of ITEP’s comprehensive 4-year undergraduate degree course. This course will be provided in a cross-disciplinary setting for students who have completed high school or its equivalent. As such, it will help train future educators for all four levels of the new education system (5+3+3+4), from elementary to middle to high school.

Government College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu is one of 42 prestigious schools throughout the nation chosen by the NCTE to begin ITEP in pilot mode.

The Government College of Education is approved by the NCTE to provide a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching (B.A.) in both its Foundational and Preparatory levels (up to 50 students each level).

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is holding the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for students who have completed their 10+2 examination and are interested in applying for admission (ITEP) to the Government College of Education, Jammu.
