Srinagar, July 23: The SSM College has requested that the road linking Diver Parihaspora to the National Highway be macadamized.

“The link road leading from the main National Highway (N44) to Diver Parihaspora measuring 3 kms is in a highly dilapidated condition, posing a lot of inconvenience to commuters who are regular visitors to the local establishments,” according to a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla. The route need rapid macadamization so that motorists feel alleviated on the specified length of road.”

“Divar Parihaspora is an old town that was the capital of Kashmir in the 8th century AD, ruled by King Lalitaditya of Kashmir, and is famous for being the seat of education.” The Archaeological Survey of India manages and maintains the historic sites, and the organisation is expanding them as a tourism destination,” it stated.

“The Diver Parihaspora area also houses police establishments such as the Indian Reserve Police (IRP) Headquarters and other police telecom offices, as well as the 29 RR Unit.” Aside from the J&K Bank Branch, the Health Centre, and the Valley’s Premier Engineering College, SSM College of Engineering, where hundreds of students study Engineering and Management at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. All of these venues are often visited by VIPs in addition to officers/officials/students of these establishments.”
