Kulgam, Sep 2: In an attempt to further the fight against the drug epidemic, police in Kulgam have apprehended two drug dealers and seized illegal substances from their hands.
At a particular checkpoint set up at Malpora Chowk, a police team lead by Incharge Police Post Mirbazar stopped a Tata Mobile with two people inside. The vehicle’s registration number was JK02-2950. Officers were able to remove 10 kg of what seemed to be poppy straw-like illegal material from the car during the search. Abdul Qayoom Gojree, a resident of Pawan-Pur Bidda, Reasi, and Showkat Ali Malik, a resident of Daman, Kathua, have been named as the individuals. They were taken into jail after being apprehended and sent to a police station. Also confiscated were the vehicles used to commit crimes.
at this respect, a case has been opened at Police Station Qazigund with FIR No. 188/2023 and has been recorded in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.
