On July 10th, authorities in Rajouri, India, arrested a well-known narcotics dealer for his participation with the illegal trafficking of narcotics, drugs, and psychotropic substances.
Sheraz Ahmed, a resident of the village of Khablan in Tehsil Thanamandi in the district of Rajouri, has been lodged in District Jail Dhangri, Rajouri on the orders of the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu for violating “The Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.”

The police claim that the suspect has been engaged in many narcotics and criminal cases over the previous few years, each time obtaining bail from the court.

He is a chronic criminal and drug smuggler, both of which threaten public safety if allowed to continue.

“The accused is a notorious fellow and chronic offender and always used illegal ways to meet his bad habits in the past,” the police added.
Amritpal Singh, the Senior Superintendent of Police in Rajouri, released a statement emphasising the force’s dedication to the community. He also promised that in the future, greater measures will be used to combat antisocial behaviour.

SSP Rajouri said that severe action has been taken against drug traffickers and that several high-profile offenders have been charged under preventative parts of the law.
