LMVs, HMVs, and Load Carriers
Depending on good weather and conducive circumstances for driving on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) in the direction of Srinagar and the reverse, LMV passengers, private cars, HMVs, and load carriers will be permitted from both sides. It is recommended for commuters to observe lane discipline.

Security Forces vehicles may travel in convoys from either side of the Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) in the direction of Srinagar and vice versa, subject to good weather and compass readings.


Vehicle activity on the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari route is permitted from both directions, from Srinagar towards Kargil and vice versa, subject to excellent road conditions and decent weather. From Minamarg to Srinagar, LMVs and HMVs are permitted from 730 to 1100 hours. The same goes for LMVs and HMVs travelling from Sonamarg to Kargil between 1300 and 1700 hours. No vehicles are permitted after the cutoff times.
At 8:00 a.m., the SF Convoy travelling from Srinagar to Kargil would depart. The SF Convoy travelling from Drass to Srinagar must plot their route so as not to disrupt civil traffic.

Mughal Road: Vehicles may travel on the Mughal Road from either side, from Poonch towards Shopian or vice versa, subject to acceptable road conditions and decent weather. From 0600 to 1800, these vehicles are permitted from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian). After the times have been cut, no vehicles are permitted.

People are advised to undertake journey on NH-44 only after confirming status of the road from Traffic control units as under:-
