Peer Bagh traffic accident claims the life of a young man, 22

On Friday, a young man, age 22, from the historic district of Srinagar city was killed in a car accident.

Family members of Sahib Mukhtar Bhat said he and a buddy were on their way to Budgam to purchase an animal for a religious sacrifice when their scooter collided with a motorcycle in the Peer Bagh neighbourhood on the outskirts of Srinagar.

The motorcyclist and the deceased youth’s buddy both suffered minor injuries, while Sahib Mukhtar Bhat was taken to Bone and Joint Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The young man lived in Hawal Srinagar, where he tragically passed away.

The police have opened an investigation into this matter under the applicable statutes.
