The SKUAST-K vegetable crop meeting has come to a close.

ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project (AIRCP) on vegetable crops had its annual conference at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir (SKUAST-K) Shalimar campus in Srinagar.

According to a statement released by SKUAST-K here, the three-day annual group conference was attended by around 300 scientists from throughout the nation who discussed new technologies, cutting-edge research, and innovation in horticulture science, in particular for the novel interventions in vegetable crops.

For the first time, the annual group meet of AICRP was held in Kashmir, hosted by SKUAST-K’s Division of Vegetable Science in the Faculty of Horticulture in conjunction with the ICAR-IIVR (Indian Institute of Vegetable Research) in Varanasi.

Professor Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, was the meeting’s keynote speaker.

Seven books were published by SKUAST-K and ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi for the event.

Vegetable crops were recently emphasised by Prof. Ganai for their importance in providing farmers with economic possibilities and fostering rural development.

Results from the previous year’s technical programme were presented and reviewed throughout the course of 12 technical sessions at the conference.

In the general assembly, the 2023–24 technical schedule was established.
