July 10th, Samba: The police said today that they had apprehended two suspects, one of whom was suspected of rape.
Sanjay Kumar alias Sunny, of Rani Talab, Digyana, Jammu, and Rahul Kumar, of Chak Bagalan, tehsil Ramgarh, district Samba, have been named as the two suspects who have been apprehended.
Meanwhile, police have opened investigations into two distinct incidents. A female complainant resulted in a FIR being filed at Police Station Bari Brahmana for alleged rape and blackmailing, while a female student resulted in a FIR being filed at Police Station Vijaypur for alleged physical assault.
SSP Samba Benam Tosh stated that police are taking proper measures within the law to curb crime against women and the perpetrators committing crimes against women are being seriously dealt with.
“The perpetrators of crime against whom serious allegations of rape, molestation, domestic violence, and assault have been levelled and proved by police, are being arrested under the law as police is committed to eradicating crime against women in Samba district.”
